Senior RSVP (RSVP) Program

Since 1971, RSVP connects volunteers aged 55 and older to actively engage and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Operating in Los Angeles County, Happy 50 Plus Foundation’s (Happy50) RSVP stands as a beacon of service. As a member of the nation’s premier volunteer network for older adults, Happy50 RSVP excels in pairing volunteers with organizations–where their time, passions, skills, wisdom, and expertise can truly shine, addressing vital needs and fostering a stronger, more vibrant community.

Qualifications for becoming a Senior Companion:

  • Are age 55 or above

  • Live in Los Angeles County

  • Attend the required 20 hours of pre-service training and continuing in-service training

Become an RSVP Volunteer

Funded by AmeriCorps Seniors and local partners, Happy 50 Plus volunteers choose how, where, and how often they want to serve to support the most critical needs of our community.  RSVP volunteers do not receive any monetary incentive or stipend, but they may be reimbursed for certain out-of-pocket costs associated with their service activities. In addition, volunteers receive accident, personal liability, and excess automobile liability insurance as well as community recognition.

 

Service opportunities are diverse and as varied as the communities where volunteers serve, and may include:

·       Community gardening

·       Youth mentoring

·       Food bank

·       Tax filing

·       Assisting natural disaster victims

·       Delivering meals to the elderly

Happy 50 Plus RSVP 志工計畫由 AmeriCorps Seniors資助，志工可以自由選擇服務方式，地點，和服務時間，以支持我們社區最迫切的需求。RSVP志工不領取任何報酬或津貼，但合格志工可能報銷在服務活動中的某些自付費用, 另外還可獲得意外險、個人責任險和汽車超額責任險，以及社區的認可。

Becoming an RSVP volunteer is as simple as filling out a short form. We use the form to identify your preferences and match you with opportunities that fit your interests and availability.
