“Enchanting China”

“Enchanting China” will showcase the diversity of Peking Opera, traditional folk music, and classical music through a traditional Chinese orchestra. The China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and celebrated Peking Opera Artists will perform an exciting and informative event as Chinese tradition meets Western ears. The Orchestra transforms ancient Chinese traditions and customs into a more modern approach, creating a new form of contemporary traditional music. Utilizing music as a universal language, the Orchestra builds a bridge between all the fascinating cultures of the world, forging an international musical network of cultural exchange and education through its performances. Like western orchestras, a Chinese orchestra has four different sections. Instead of woodwinds, strings, brass, and percussion instruments, this 80-member orchestra has plucked strings, bowed strings, wind, and percussion. Among them, Pipas, Bamboo Flutes, and Erhus are very unique Chinese instruments.
