Come and celebrate the people and culture of Thailand at the 39th Lotus Festival and Lights of Dreams Water Lantern Event! Enjoy a fun day in Echo Park with authentic performances, indulge in ethnic foods, and shop our many vendors. Then celebrate life, hope, dreams, and peace with your family and friends at dusk with beautiful water lanterns and custom-made lotus lanterns.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to non-profit charities that focus on giving back to the local Los Angeles community, address the pressing homeless crisis by bringing unsheltered Angelenos inside with homes, healing, and hope. A portion of your donation will go to the Los Angeles Lotus Festival Inc., which is a non-profit organization that promotes the arts and cultures of the Asian Pacific Island and in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks.
Schedule for Lights of Dreams Water Lantern Event:
1. Registration (water lanterns and lotus lanterns): 12 – 7 pm
2. Decoration: 12 – 8 pm
3. Lantern launching: 8 – 9 pm

Cleanup and sustainability:
After the event, we will clean up and recycle all lanterns to ensure that Echo Park remains as beautiful and clean as before. Additionally, the water lanterns are made out of rice paper and bamboo wood, which are eco-friendly materials that are all recyclable. The lotus lanterns are made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from corn starch, and is non-toxic, biodegradable, and compostable.
